I am a Scottish artist specialising in contemporary botanical art and illustrations.
Having always had an passion for drawing and painting, I began studying botanical illustration at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in 2008, completing the Foundation Course in 2010 and the RBGE Diploma in Botanical Illustration two years later in 2012.
I work mainly in watercolour, using layers of paint to build up colours and details. My illustrations are life size or larger, drawn from plants I either grow myself or find. I like to paint subejcts that I see around me, celebrating the beauty of natural objects in everyday life.
