Nicola is an artist specialising in botanical illustrations.  Living and working near Edinburgh, Scotland, Nicola paints highly detailed contemporary watercolours inspired by nature.

Born in Aberdeen and having spent her childhood in Africa and Scotland, Nicola studied geography  and planning at University  before working for The Countryside Commission for Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage.

Having always had an interest in drawing and painting, Nicola began studying botanical illustration
 at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in 2008, taking a range of classes and completing the RBGE two year Diploma in Botanical Illustration in 2012.
